Mobile Planetarium Visits Albert Bradbeer
A visit to the school from the Mobile Planetarium from Thinktank Birmingham Museums, allowed the children to discover how to spot stars and planets in the sky. They then flew into space to learn about the movement of the Earth, Moon and Sun and how this creates night and day. A wonderful addition to both Year 4 and 5 curriculums, linking together Science topics of Earth and Space and a significant person such as Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE through scientific enquiry. This presenter-led show allows pupils the exploratory experiences without stepping outside the school, through state-of-the-art digital technology along with an inflatable dome.
Child’s review:
In my opinion the planetarium was amazing and educational because although we were having fun, we were learning too. I was so astonished that the stars were moving, it felt like I was moving! I think Saturn is the most stunning planet because of how its ring are made.
