Core Subjects:

In Maths in Year 4, we work with concrete apparatus; solve problems and investigate maths in the real world. By the end of the year we will expect every child to know their 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12 times tables.

In English we build on our previous learning, following the Talk for Writing approach. We develop our speaking and listening skills by participating in role play and group activities and taking turns.

In Science we learn all about Living Things and their Habitats, Electricity, Sound, Animals including Humans, Changing States and the Scientist, Maggie Aderin-Pocock. To support our learning, we do lots of practical investigations, and take our learning into the outside environment where possible.

4L PE: Mondays and Thursdays

4R PE: Wednesdays and Fridays

Please ensure children come to school in the correct PE kit on these days, suitable for both indoor or outdoor learning.

Both classes have Music lessons (brass instruments) on Fridays.
