Core Subjects:
In Maths in Year 6, we continue to develop our arithmetic skills, with a large focus on all four operations and fractions, decimals and percentages. We solve increasingly complex problems and investigate maths in the real world. We use our sound knowledge of the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12 times tables to support our learning.
In English we build on our previous learning, following the Talk for Writing approach. We develop our speaking and listening skills by participating in role play and group activities and taking turns.
In Science we learn all about Living Things and their Habitats, Electricity, Evolution and Inheritance, Light and Shadows, Animals including Humans and the Scientist, Katherine Johnson. To support our learning, we do lots of practical investigations, and take our learning into the outside environment where possible.
